Many of the workers who worked in factories were immigrants who had recently come from other countries inn search of a better life. The conditions they worked were many long hours, little or no breaks, low wages paid, seven days a week, and very poor work environment. The dangers of which many workers faced were form losing a limb to dyeing at their job.
