The Great Progressive Leader

Theodore Roosevelt was born in a proud wealthy family in New York city with a loving family taking care of him. He feared only one man in his life, his father. His father was the one that really took care of him and that fear him the most as he said to his father-”the best man I ever knew”-. Theodore was an educated man in Harvard and during those years were the best of his time and the worst of them. During the years in that institute he was a successful athlete and a great debater. He also met the women that he adores as much as his mother and his father. Alice Hathaway became his first wife. Roosevelt’s achievements have made him the man be n he was when he became president and the accomplishments that led this man to be the Great progressive reformer.
When Theodore Roosevelt became president he became the progressive leader during the Progressive Era. During his presidency, in the spring of 1902, the coal miners of the United Mine union wanted m re wages and more recognition by the company owners. The railroad companies refused. Roosevelt was asked to help out the cause by a letter that was sent from a reform minister, Washington Gladden. So now that the president was dealing with the railroad companies, he sent the military to send the people on strike back to work. The Progressive Leader decided to separate or make an agreement to both sides. He decided to make an arbitration and both sides agreed. The arbitration was to make both sides of the arguments agree to have a third party or someone to watch them settle their dispute between the mine workers and the mine owners. The mine workers agreed to shorter work days and higher pay. While the mine owners agreed to disregard the unions and no negotiations with them. This led to the great idea of the president to make a ‘square deal.
The Square Deal was to keep the equality of the business, consumers and the labor. This great leader decided to limit the trust and to increase the safety, health and working conditions. Since creating the Square Deal no one anted to challenge the president and for that he won the election for becoming so popular. After winning the election he wanted to mention to the people that a regulation of the corporation must take place not because to diminish the corporations but to make sure that they serve for the public’s good.
In 1902 the President sued the Northern Security Company. Roosevelt’s administration created a ‘trustbusting’ campaign after their achievemnets with winnings the trial. That the businesses wrer not in the favor of the pubic and that the trust of the businesses were treating the consumers with unfairness and taking away their money. Businesses made the comsumers buy inferior products(products that didn’t work), they competed unfairly and misconoduct in the presidents eye.
